The NETGEAR EAX15v2 belongs to EAX series (EAX12, EAX11v2, EAX15v2) wall-plug 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) extenders that share the SoC, WiFi chip, and image format with the WAX202.

  • Upload image file for sysupgrade to LuCI
  • Wait for reboot

If you don't have a GUI (LuCI) available, you can alternatively upgrade via the command line. There are two command line methods for upgrading:

  • sysupgrade
  • mtd

Note: It is important that you put the firmware image into the ramdisk (/tmp) before you start flashing.

sysupgrade

  • Login as root via SSH on 192.168.1.1, then enter the following commands:

Basic configuration After flashing, proceed with this.
Set up your Internet connection, configure wireless, configure USB port, etc.

Warranty

  • The rear-cover is secured to the front with four T8 screws (highlighted in red circle) and are hiding behind the spec label.
  • The covers are also linked with 4 power supply pins. It removes with ease, but needs care when placing them together for proper alignment.
  • In addition, the main board is secured to the front case using a single T8 screw. The main board releases with ease as soon this is removed.
