Linksys E7350 is a 2×2 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) router based on MediaTek MT7621A & MT7915D.
See Hardware Highlights for its hardware specification.
This device has 2 partitions for the firmware called firmware and alt_firmware. To successfully flash and boot the device, the device should have been running from alt_firmware partition. To get the device booted through alt_firmware partition, download the OEM firmware from Linksys website and upgrade the firmware from web GUI. Once this is done, flash the OpenWrt Factory firmware from web GUI.
New Installations must be done over UART/TFTP procedure. Users already running OpenWrt 23.05.x can flash a sysupgrade image.
UART 115200 baud 8N1, 5 pin UART header on board pinout (viewed with ethernet ports facing you): GROUND-X-TXD-RXD-X (X=not used)
Choose UBoot option 6 and enter appropriate TFTP credentials pointing to OpenWRT Factory firmware image file .bin
Enter values for “FILL-IN” below
| Bootloader tftp server IPv4 address | FILL-IN |
|---|---|
| Bootloader MAC address (special) | FILL-IN |
| Firmware tftp image | Latest OpenWrt release (NOTE: Name must contain “tftp”) |
| TFTP transfer window | FILL-IN seconds |
| TFTP window start | approximately FILL-IN seconds after power on |
| TFTP client required IP address | FILL-IN |
These are generic instructions. Update with your router's specifics.

sysupgrademtdNote: It is important that you put the firmware image into the ramdisk (/tmp) before you start flashing.
cd /tmp wget http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/trunk/XXX/xxx.abc sysupgrade /tmp/xxx.abc
If sysupgrade does not support this router, use mtd.
cd /tmp wget http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/trunk/XXX/xxx.abc mtd write /tmp/xxx.abc linux && reboot
alt_firmware (where stock firmware resides) by doing one of the following:alt_firmware.
